Reports and Export
Snaglite can generate PDF reports from your inspection data. These reports are intended to present snag information clearly, with the site structure, descriptions, photographs and other supporting details arranged in a professional format.
Before exporting a report, check:
- the site, unit and location structure is correct
- snag descriptions are clear and complete
- photos are attached where needed
- annotations are legible
- statuses are up to date
- company details in Settings are correct
What reports can include
Depending on the report type and export options selected, a report may include:
- site details
- unit and location structure
- snag descriptions
- photographs
- photo annotations
- assignee information
- snag status
- general notes or related context where relevant
Choose the export point that best matches the audience and purpose of the report.
Using filters
Snaglite offers report filters to control what is included in the exported PDF.
Typical filters may include narrowing the report by assignee or by other inspection criteria.
Example
A filtered report can be useful where you only want to issue a list of items relevant to one contractor, open snags or one package of work.
When to export
Export a report when the inspection information is sufficiently complete to be shared. In practice, that usually means the structure is correct, the main defects have been captured, and the wording and images have been checked.
For important inspections, it is sensible to export the report promptly once the inspection has been completed.
Good report preparation
- Keep snag descriptions factual and specific
- Use photos where they materially improve clarity
- Check that annotated images remain easy to read
- Use consistent assignee names
- Make sure statuses reflect the current position
- Review any broader notes included in the report
Practical precaution
Although Snaglite is intended to support live inspection work reliably, important project data should still be treated carefully.
If the inspection record is important, use backup regularly and export key PDF reports promptly rather than leaving everything to be done later.
After export
Once a report has been created, review the PDF before issuing it externally. Check that the pages render correctly, the intended items are included, and the photographs and notes appear as expected.
